I completed four years of service in the United States Marine Corps followed by three years of aircraft mechanic's school in Connecticut. I am the first female to graduate from that particular school with both airframe and powerplant licenses and I was also the only female attending the school for all three years. I graduated at the top of my class even after enduring the loss of my grandfather and missing school. I've spent the past seven years in steel-toed boots and I'm looking forward to more as I AM an aircraft mechanic.
